What Is Truth to Power?

dedicated to bridging the gaps between governance and practice, technology and business, regulation and control, risk management and real market pressures, and your own knowledge and the knowledge of your peers.
built to create a common pool of knowledge—one big brain—that lets you work more efficiently, build technology and business practices more effectively, and endure audits more effortlessly.
a neutral hub through which you can reach many valuable information nodes, resource collections, and organizations that are helping people like you already, but in fractured ways.
against the idea that auditors, analysts, and consultancies can control information simply through their ability to collect and distill it. T2P's goal is to unlock the vast body of knowledge, insight, and conventional wisdom that we all have, make it freely available to you, and help you digest and interpret it—without undue cost, bias, or hype.

Be a Core Guide

T2P Cores are one of the best ways to gain leadership visibility in the T2P community, build strong professional relationships, and define your own community interaction. Plus, you get the satisfaction of knowing you're substantively contributing to the business health and ethical development of companies around the world.

What makes a good Core Guide?

Knowledgeable voices should be heard. So we've created Cores as simple mechanisms to help smart people connect with the community—and develop a following. Core Guides don't have to be professional writers or "stars" in the conventional sense. They just need to know what they're talking about and have something to say. In general, the only qualifications for being a core guide are:

  • Expertise in some area of information, IT, or business management
  • Hands-on experience in your area of expertise
  • Ability to express insight, illuminate conclusions, or present a coherent point of view
  • Some knack for intelligible writing
  • Vendor-neutrality

You're busy, and that's great

All of the current Core Guides have many irons in many fires. In fact, their involvement and industry are why we love them—and why we try to make Core "ownership" a simple matter with minimal requirements:

  • Join the T2P community
  • Post a blog entry (at least 150 words) every two or three weeks
  • Create an initial resource links list (you probably alread have them bookmarked)
  • Give us content for your bio page—links to your professional Web site or other project sites, books or articles you've published, projects you've worked on, articles quoting you...pretty much whatever you want. And photo, of course.

In all, your regular "burden" as a Core Guide should be just about an hour a month. And because Core Guides choose their own focuses, that's an hour spent thinking and writing about stuff that really interests you. If you have an interesting thought during the da, just write it down. That's practically your blog post right there.

Does it pay?

Ha! Of course! ...Erm, well, not in cash, but in many other ways. Whatever we could afford to pay you would be paltry anyway, compared to tangible benefits you can derive from your Core following and network connections. Thus, our focus is on helping you build big value on direct community access, interactive tools, and promotional and editorial support, in exchange for relatively little effort. As a Core Guide, you can tap into:

  • A free platform for Webcasts with a built-in audience
  • A free platform for interactive education and courseware development
  • Free, active marketing support for your (vendor-neutral) educational content/events to the T2P and broader online communities
  • Free podcast development and marketing
  • The ability to host and promote free Forum "events": time-delimited, topically focused, discussion-group interactions around "hot" topics you choose
  • Free expert and editorial support developing, producing, and promoting research projects that address information or business management issues
  • Featured T2P community calendar entries that publicize your upcoming speaking engagements or other events
  • Your own T2P e-mail address
  • Permission to use the T2P "brand" in your professional and networking efforts

This is all on top of T2P's built-in community functions, like the ability to make one-on-one connections with other community members (à la Linked In). As a T2P Core Guide, you'll also get u jump on "Good Points," which can be exchanged for discounts on goods, events, and services provided by T2P's ever-expanding community and partnerships.

Finally, T2P management (i.e., Core Guides' biggest fans) is always open to new and creative ideas for community connection. We're flexible, and we'll try to support any idea that offers real value to the community.
