Please read this Policy before submitting any personal information to T2P. By using our Web site or registering with T2P online, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as outlined in this Policy.
Who we are
T2P is owned by Truth to Power LLC, an independent privately-owned company registered in Washington state, United States. Truth to Power LLC wholly owns and operates the Web site at http://www.t2pa.com. Our legal address is 2145 52nd Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116, United States. We can be reached via email at .
Personal information is defined as data that identifies you, or that can be combined with other information to identify or contact you. It includes, but is not limited to, your name, business or personal email address, job title, organization, organization’s physical address, telephone number, photograph, and biographical details.
Cookies are text files containing information that can be read by us to facilitate your access to our site and personalize your online experience. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser setting to decline or require explicit acceptance of cookies.
The Personal Information We Collect
T2P collects identifying information that is 1) actively and voluntarily submitted by site users and Members via registration and contact forms, and 2) passively supplied to the site via technologies such as browsers and networks.
Automated interaction. When you visit T2P's Web site, we automatically collect and may analyze certain information about your computer and access. This information includes but may not be limited to your IP address, your browser type and language, the date and time of access, the content of any undeleted cookies that your browser previously accepted from us, and the referring website address.
Browser cookies. When you visit our Web site, we may record one or more cookies on your computer. For example, when you log into the main site at t2pa.com, we set a cookie with encrypted data for your user ID and password. Logging into the T2Pwiki sets a separate encrypted cookie. If you choose to decline cookies, please note that you may not be able to sign in to T2P or use some of our interactive features.
We do not collect individually identifiable information about Web pages you visit, the links you click, and the searches you conduct; however, we do collect and analyze such information in aggregate, so we may design and provide a better online experience for members and other site visitors.
Member registration and profiles. We ask for some personal information for membership registrations, which entitle authorized site visitors to access protected content, community functionality, and other interactions and transaction. We do this, in part, to protect the community, since registration enables us to disentitle abusive community participants. Member information also helps us cultivate member relationships and provide great content and services for existing and prospective members. We do not obtain or integrate information about you from third-party sources, and we do not externally validate information submitted by members. If you are a registered T2P member and log in to access members-only areas of our sites, T2P may record that access and note any information you download from the site.
Members information is stored in Member Profiles. This information includes, but may not be limited to, name, professional role or title, industry, and business contact information. Members can choose whether to publish contact information in their Member Profile. If contact and valid personally identifiable information is published in a Member Profile, other registered members may use it to directly contact the relevant member in order to obtain the benefit of their expertise.
Commenting and feedback functions: We may record your user name, email address, and IP address when you submit comments or ratings on the T2P site. This information is used internally to help T2P provide more relevant information and services, to diagnose technical issues with the sites, and to prevent spam and other abuse on the site. We will not publish or share this information with any third parties.
T2Pwiki: Only members may edit or create wiki pages in the T2P Wiki Projects. We record access to the wiki projects. Moreover, we record aggregate information about wiki pages viewed. If you choose to create or modify wiki pages, your identity is recorded and your username will be viewable in the history of the pages you have modified. We may also record and use you IP address to identify possible abuse and may block your IP if abuse is detected. Members who abuse wiki privileges may be fully blocked from creating and modifying wiki pages and, more generally, disallowed from member interactions on the main T2P Web site.
T2P takes abuse of contact capabilities very seriously. We may disable or block any member who is the subject of complaints by other members or posts inappropriate content to the site.
How we use collected information
T2P uses the information we collect about you for the following purposes:
- To respond to inquiries that you submit to us via contact forms on the site and to provide any information you request from us
- To communicate with members about ongoing programs and projects, such as surveys, promotions, events, education and other exclusive opportunities offered by T2P
- To better design programs, products, and services in accordance with your interests and preferences
- To give members information about their registration and profiles
- To administer membership and provide members with resources, decision-support tools, and other materials available via registration
- To perform research and analysis that supports T2P's mission to provide relevant, practical programs, products, and services
- To maintain the technical functionality of the Web site
In addition, if you choose to publish contact information in your profile, other members may have access to that information via the Member Directory and/or direct access to your Profile. T2P encourages appropriate, professional communication between users. Members may contact and communicate with each other—via online and T2P's Private messaging system—to:
- Seek professional advise and opinions about specific issues
- Establish professional networking connections
- Request referrals to relevant business resources within and beyond the T2P Web site and member network
- Provide advice and encouragement
- Perform legitimate research relevant to common areas of professional responsibility or interest
T2P does not sell, rent, or otherwise share personally identifiable information with non-agent third parties for promotional or marketing purposes without your explicit permission.
You have choices about how we use your information
You have some control over what personal information is published on the T2P Web site and how we collect and use your information. If we propose uses other than those described in this Policy, we'll inform you and let you opt out of uses you don't want.
Your Member Profile: If you register on T2P, you can choose whether to include contact information in your Member Profile or allow other members to contact you by email or the onsite private messaging functions.
Marketing Communications: We hope you find value in T2P's marketing communications we provide. However, if you do not wish to receive updates and promotions from us, you may opt out at any time. We will not share your information and personal details with other non-agent third parties for promotional or marketing purposes, without giving you a choice about such sharing. Please note: Opting out of marketing communications will not automatically remove you from member-services emails and other service-related communications integral to the T2P programs to which you subscribe.
We make every effort to comply with requests and preferences regarding the collection, storage, and sharing of personal information, provided that they do not interfere with our ability to provide necessary services or run contrary to our legal or regulatory requirements. Moreover, since we do not validate the information you provide, you can simply decline to provide valid personal information to us—although providing false or invalid information may seriously limit the value of your connections in the T2P community and the services we can offer you.
Disclosure of personal information
T2P may share your personal information with other companies or individuals under the following circumstances:
- For legitimate business purposes connected with the provision of technologies, products, services, and member benefits. If we share information with third parties for such purposes, we seek reasonable assurances that your information will be used and protected in a manner consistent with our privacy policies.
- If we engage service providers and third-party agents to process personal information on our behalf. In such cases, T2P requires reasonably assurance from service providers that the use and protection of your data is consistent with our own privacy policies.
- In response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process; to establish or exercise our legal rights; to defend against legal claims; or as otherwise required by law. In such cases we reserve the right to raise or waive any legal objection or right available to us.
- In the investigation of, prevention of, or response to real or suspected illegal activities; and to protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of our staff, members, and unregistered site visitors.
- In connection with a corporate transaction, such as a divestiture, merger, consolidation, or asset sale, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy.
Cross-border transfers of personal information
T2P operates its sites in the United States (US). Accessing t2pa.com from outside of the US may involve some transfer of personal information to the US. In addition, information published in Member Profiles will be visible to entities outside of the US. Please be aware that privacy laws either in the US or other countries from which the site is accessed may not provide protections equivalent to those of your country of residence.
Access to and correction of personal information
T2P processes personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with this Policy or any service-specific privacy notices. We rely on members to provide valid information, and to inform us when their information becomes incorrect. T2P Members can directly access, update, and modify their online profiles and other personal details by logging into the T2P Web site.
You may also request access to any personal information that we hold about you and ask us to correct any personal information which may be inaccurate, except where the law requires otherwise. To access, correct, inquire about your personal information in our possession, please contact:
T2P implements technical and organizational security measures to help protect users and members against unauthorized access to or disclosure, alteration, or destruction of personal information. We strictly manage and protect authorizations for and access to member data. Passwords are encrypted in the Member database. We also implement appropriate physical security measures to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information on or via local machines. Of course, Members should also take reasonable, common sense precautions to protect their own IDs and passwords.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be entirely secure, and CEB assumes no liability for any damage caused by the interception, alteration, or misuse of information during transmission.
Third-party resources and web sites
T2P or its members may provide links to other websites or resources that are not part of our network or under our control. We do not and cannot exercise control over these Web sites or their privacy practices.
We do not actively collect age data on site visitors and T2P members; however, T2P does not intentionally seek to attract visitors under the age of 18. We do recognize that some young people may have legitimate research and business interests, and in general the privacy policies that apply to all site users also apply to site visitors and members under the age of 18.
From time to time, we may use user information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our Web site to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our Web site periodically.
